Road Traffic Accidents

Statistics produced by the Department for Transport show that 268,900 people were either injured or killed in the UK in the 12 months leading to March 2006.

Accidents on the road can happen due to a number of factors including:

  • Speed
  • Tiredness and lack of concentration
  • Lack of care
  • Failure to react to dangerous situations
  • Reckless or dangerous driving
  • Alcohol
  • Vehicle defects
    (e.g. brakes, tyres, lights)
  • Road defects
    (e.g. a pothole)

You will be able to make Road Traffic Accident Claim if you were:

The driver of a vehicle and were involved in an accident caused by another driver.

A passenger in a vehicle and involved in an accident and where your driver or a driver of another vehicle was to blame.

A pedestrian and hit by a vehicle – for example when crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing.

A cyclist and were hit by a vehicle who failed to notice you.

However minor your injury may seem you may still be able to make a claim if the accident was wholly or partly the fault of someone else. This could be another motorist but claims can also be made against the Highway Authority for example for failing to give warning about or repair a defect in the road.

By making a claim through The Accident Team we can help you recover:

  • Compensation for your injuries.
  • Loss of income as a result of the accident.
  • Medical and taxi expenses.
  • Any insurance policy excess paid.

We can arrange for full repairs to be carried to your vehicle and will provide you with a replacement courtesy vehicle while your vehicle is being repaired.
